Half way mark

Yes, we have been slacking on the blog entries, a good sign eh!! Too busy enjoying ourselves.
Had a lovely trip up to the Lake District to visit Ian’s parents at Glenridding, a beautiful village on Lake Ulswater. They have a lovely home and garden. We enjoyed
the scene, lakes and valleys and rugged hills. The mighty Vauxhall sped along the M6 like the best of them.
Last week we went to SW Wales, cycled around some lovely country side and stayed on the coast.
Yesterday had a fabulous day. Our neighbour here has a canal steam boat, so we organised our kiwi friends and 10 of us spent the afternoon going to Welshpool and back, the sun was shining and the food and wine flowed. The kiwis had bought their jamas and stayed the night. We are a great guest house DBB!! No charge!!
We’ve played golf, and today we went into Shrewsbury to see the finals of a women’s tennis tournament. Thought we would see Laura Robson play but she was knocked out in the semis. It was great tennis, was drizzling as usual, and so was held in doors.
Vern’s been to the Cardiologist, for follow up, and all is well.
Last week, our neighbour came running over to me when I was on the mower, to tell me the house on our property was on fire, “Did we have a key, as the dogs were inside”!! Oh !dear, it was frightening, we got the dogs out, so fire engines, police and ambulance all here. The house is majorly damaged, the young couple devastated, they have a quadriplegic 6 yr old, it has been very difficult for them to find a suitable temporary home. Because it’s a very old house, has to be restored to its former glory. They say will take ages.
